We’ll see you soon… Following the announcement of the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown in line with the 4 step plan, we will be reopening for meetings and events as part of step 3, no earlier than 17th May.

We have grouped our safety measures thematically below detailing the new systems, methods and precautions in place so we can resume hosting in a social distance compliant manner that still puts you, your delegates and our friendly support staff at the heart of the action. This page is a reflection and summary of our working document which is being continually updated to reflect current regulation, advice and best practice from the Government and events industry. Please get in touch with our team with any questions, if you would like more specifics or to discuss the impact on your meeting or event.

Cleanliness & Hygiene

We are committed to increasing the cleaning and standards of hygiene across 58 Victoria Embankment by implementing additional cleaning and sanitation and providing extra opportunities for hand cleaning throughout the building. Throughout the day this will look like an increase in the number of cleaners and the sanitisation of high touch points such as lift buttons, antibacterial door handles and covers along with hand sanitisation units and the use of UV wands.

Prior to reopening all members of staff will have gone through training and refreshers regarding hygiene, health and safety with specifics related to COVID-19.

Capacities & Getting Around the Building

Everybody working within the building will be subject to the same standards beginning with a temperature check on arrival and scanning the QR code on the NHS app. Access around the building and venue spaces will follow a one way system which will be clearly marked on the floors with additional signage. Due to this and limiting numbers in the lifts to two people at a time there may be some queuing however staff will actively monitor this to keep it to a minimum and ensure everyone gets to where they need to be as quickly as possible.

58 Victoria Embankment is a multi-tenanted building and, across both office floors and venue spaces numbers will be reduced in line with social (or physical) distancing. Within the venue spaces this will be achieved by the removal of furniture and asking all users to please keep the seating in place (much against our usual flexible nature). At the moment this reduces our capacities by more than 50% but please get in touch with the team to discuss the specific spaces and your requirements.

Catering

We’ve worked closely with our inhouse caterers, CH&Co and are pleased continue to provide tasty and nutritious catering and refreshments. Amazing food and drink experiences are at the heart of what we deliver. We know this can make or break an event so we’ve developed innovative ways to continue to delight.  Our extensive menus can provide you with everything you need whether its interactive food concepts to inspire the creative or simply providing food which delights to sustain you and your guests throughout your event. We’ve got you covered. Our food is inventive, global and memorable yet accessible to all. We’re seasonal and more importantly built around local suppliers.

Taking into consideration the physical distancing measures, we have reimagined our menus and service styles. Whilst physical distancing may feel like hosting an event is impossible, we want to reassure you anything is possible. This can also be adapted to the guidelines at the time of your event whilst maintaining a sense of occasion.

AV

Our state of the art, high tech audio visual services are something we are very proud of and have had a strong commitment to since opening 58VE. All of our room hire fees have always included our comprehensive AV packages as standard. Within the meeting rooms this includes video conferencing and within 58VE streaming and an AV Technician to support your event. We are well experienced and ready to accommodate even more hybrid events to help you reach your audience.

We are also very pleased to introduce Studio58VE which we believe is offering the most comprehensive virtual studio package available in a venue throughout the UK. Directly from our ground floor event space, the studio allows you to host (or simply record) a variety of hybrid and online events covering all formats including presentations, panel discussions and interviews, mixing in person and virtual speakers and panels.

Working Together

The measures summarised here represent a big change to how we normally operate and the only way we are going to be able to successfully deliver them is by working very closely with yourself, the meeting and event organiser. In the run up to the event we will spend a lot of time working out, talking through and even virtually walking the full logistics of your meeting or event, considering start and end times, flow around the building and many other factors to ensure that attendees stay safe and have the best experience within the venue.

There will be signage throughout the venue in the form of physical signs and posters, floor markers and pop up banners, however, we would welcome you to bring in any additional signage and details specific from your organisation to your attendees. We also understand the importance of messaging and communication in advance of arrival to ensure expectations are managed and that everyone is fully prepared and on the same page so are here to answer any questions or help with anything needed.
